Frenchy!

So I started my French class....
and before I had even begun I had started wearing more stripes, thinking of little blouses tucked into pleated circle skirts, fat sweet cursive handwriting, riding down streets in scooters, bangs, my favorite perfumes, the smell of shampoo in Paris when I was there.....
Needless to say, I have a new mini-obsession. I feel as though something is about to be born (and it's not a tiny baby, though a girl can wish....) I can't wait to watch EVERY Anna Karina film and start saying "a toute" on a daily basis. Oh.....and plan a trip to France and possibly play a show or two there....

I don't think there's anyone quite so beautiful...though I have told my dear friend Alela that she reminds me of the lass, perhaps a sister lost in time....and the French seem to love her just as well!

Bonjour Adrienne
A bientôt
Nadège

Bon pour vous! Une fille jolie et intelligent, qui aussi parle Francais est adorable. (I can't find the damn accents anywhere...) I took French for years in high school and can barely spak it, or write it as you can maybe tell ;)

I now wish I'd have the enthusiasm to try harder. It is a small comfort that at least whenever in France I can kind of muddle along in it.

I'm once again so impressed with you and inspired. Hope your classes are fabulous. Oh and learning the language is the perfect excuse to watch lots of French films, n'est pas?

oh man, two of my favorite favorites inthe WHOLE WIDE WORLD: breathless and pierrot le fou. i feel almost spiritual about both those films, oh and Jules e Jim, and 400 Blows. the frenchy vibe is killin me. you have to teach me as you go...the only one i remember so far is "la boum!"

Oh, man. I have to limit my watching of Breathless because I fall to uncontrollable urges of hair cutting, cigarettes and coffee. I feel like I miss this era- 60's Paris especially. What a funny idea. Thanks for the reminder and for sharing your own Parisian influences they were lovely :)

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on dreaming. I was captivated by your images of red wine and oceans and pies. I am comforted to know I am not the only one who dreams of strange parties. A famous actor and I had a chat last night about how we both like to eat coconut milk from the can. Weird. Please come back and tell me your dreams any time you like. Have you read Clarissa Pinkola Estes' WOmen who run with the wolves or listened to any of the recordings of her storytelling? I just sent Heather one, ask her about it!

Love and Blessings
